What Would We Do Without The Camera

Thursday, February 25th, 2010

Nearly everyone across major countries of the worl use a camera during their day whether that comes in the form of a webcam, digital camera or of course the mobile phone. Where would we be now without this technology?

Memories

Although the camera has not just been put to this use its main one is photo taking on things like holidays and weddings. Without the camera it would be very difficult for people to remember the good times that they have had. Photos are really good when you get a bit older as they keep all of those memories going. Of course cameras are still the best way you can capture all of those crazy times that can be had.

Military

Without the invention of the camera the military and police force would not be as effective as it is now. The camera is attached to nearly all police choppers so they can see exactly what is going on. The military also use UAV to plan their next moves as it allows them to see the surrounding areas of the battlefield and make their next plan of action.

Satellite

Satellites were built from the camera up so without cameras there would be no way at all that we would be able to tell what was going on in the earth’s atmosphere, spot nations building weapons and other such things.

Pain

The only problem with all of this is if you drop your camera and it breaks which is why you really should look into getting photographic equipment insurance. General gadget insurance will cover you too but it could also be worth looking into laptop insurance if you have a laptop

Camcorder buying tips

Wednesday, July 29th, 2009

Camcorders with DVD camera storage are the generally the easiest of all the camcorder storage formats in terms of use. Unlike alternative storage types such as flash memory and tape media, mini DVD camcorders can have the disc removed from them immediately after recording and placed in a compatible player for viewing. There is no need to copy the contents of the mini DVD onto your computer unless you wish to back up or edit your video. A camcorder with mini DVD storage is ideal for those who wish to view their video without having to upload it to a computer or burn it to a disc.

The popular Flip camcorders are a hugely successful small video camera that uses an internal hard drive as storage space for video and audio as opposed to a mini DVD or tape. The Flip camera has a simple interface based around a large red button that simply starts and stops recording. The success of the Flip camera is mainly due to its simplistic design and has resulted in a number of new features being integrated into newer Flip models. The latest Flip camcorder models include the Flip Video (the original), the Flip Ultra and the Flip Mino (the latest model).

Getting a good battery is especially important when you are buying your new camcorder. There are four different camcorder battery types: Lithium-ion batteries, lead acid batteries, nickel cadium batteries and nickel metal hydride batteries. Each type of camcorder battery has its own flaws, however it is generally acknowledged that the Lithium-Ion batteries are the best in camcorder battery technology. This type of camcorder battery has a much longer life than its alternatives, shorter charging periods for more energy capacity and is lighter than most other battery types. A lead acid camcorder battery is also very reliable but can take up to 24 hours to fully recharge, while nickel cadium and nickel metal hydride batteries are best run completely flat before recharging.
