Overclocking the components in your computer can be a lot of fun, but you actually need to realize the implications of your actions along with the benefits that you stand to gain.  Don’t take this article to mean that you shouldn’t overclock your PC, just that you should completely grasp what the end results can be.

One way to a way to overclock CPU is thru the Multiplier.  The smartest thing about overclocking the CPU using the multiplier that your sole overclocking the CPU and nothing else.  This allows you to have more liberty when overclocking the CPU because there will be no instabilities from the other components.  This also allows to diagnose the issue a lot less complicated because there’s no other components involved while your overclocking the CPU thru the multiplier.

Though this is the preferred way to how to overclock CPU.  The issue with this method is that the multiplier is only reserved for the top of the range CPUs.  This wouldn’t be such a bad thing but these CPUs cost around $1000!  Ultimately it will be your wallet which will decide how you overclock your CPU.

Overclocking is risky though, when you overclock any of the components in your machine, you force them to operate at a velocity higher than their ratings.  This leads, as you may see a little later, to inflating their temperature.  If there is no sufficient cooling for these components, the system becomes unstable and some of the elements could be fully damaged.  Fair overclocking often doesn’t require any additional devices.  if you are prepared to very overclock your device , you’ll need to add any convenient cooling device that keeps your system stable.  Is overclocking really worth it?
